Curiosity is what separates us from cabbages. It’s accelerative. The more we know the more we want to know. - David McCullough

Read the book you do honestly feel a wish and curiosity to read. - Samuel Johnson

When I get interested in a topic, I tend to read obsessively about it. I want to know all that I can. This might explain why the books in my house are arranged by themes: inequality; the Great Depression; AI; capitalism defenders and critics. American History (multiple themed shelves).

I love following these curiosities, and I think they help me understand the world a bit more each year. But I also wish I could share what I find out with more people, other than the poor captive audience at my family dinner table.

If you find topics like those listed above interesting, I hope you’ll join me as I review books, articles and other sources to learn what I can about the world around us.
